October's Wedding Network USA Meeting

I am priveleged to be part of a great group of industry professionals in Wedding Network USA and they had their latest meeting at the beautiful and luxurious Alderbrook Resort. Although I didn't attend the meeting I had the honor of providing floral decor for the event.

Kirstie, with Simply Wed designed and managed the event with Alderbrook and it was a pleasure working with her on the natural and simple floral design to compliment the resort.

Alderbrook Resort and Spa is located in Union, WA directly on the Hood Canal. It's a beautiful and natural picturesque setting and every room features a gorgeous view whether it's from the hotel rooms or the private cottages. The resort features many cozy fire pits to snuggle up to while taking in the views, waterfalls around the property, leather couches and an inside fireplace to enjoy a game of chess or curl up with a nice book. They also have a full spa for all your relaxation needs, an indoor pool and sauna and steam room to accommodate your relaxation. Check out their website for more beautiful pictures and information about the resort!

Real Weddings: 5.30.10 Linda & Josh

Linda & Josh were married on 5.30.10, a very Seattle kind of day! They got just enough clear skies to do some outside pictures and their outdoor ceremony just added some umbrellas to the decor at the last minute.

Linda was a sweet Bride. This wedding came to me about 3 weeks prior to the big day. BreeAnn Gale with Pink Blossom Events, who'd also been hired not long before the wedding contacted me with a need for flowers for this lovely couple. I actually had some other engagements going on, but made it work. The flowers were simple, but stunning and I think the textures and colors matched the Bride's personality perfectly!

Enjoy...

Thank you to Jenny Jimenez for the beautiful photos!

A sweet little dinner party...

I have been a bad little blogger these days. My last post was 8.4.10 and that wasn't really a post with substance, more of a notification. It was a truly busy summer, one of the busiest - each week snowballed into the next. So, my apologies for not keeping you "posted," pun intended.

We will have lots of exciting stuff to show you as the photos start coming back from photographers from our grand events summer of 2010. But in the meantime, I thought I'd share this sweet little dinner party my husband and I threw for our family awhile back.

The inspiration was the vintage, garden fabric runner that I got at a thrift store. I built around that with props and flowers to set the table. Enjoy!

A Black & White Affair....

Brad & Amber were married June 4, 2010 at The Antheia Ballroom in Snohomish. They had a fun black and white and pink theme with the Parisien print being the focal point.

We created a luscious bouquet in all white with Roses, Peonies, Mini Calla Lilies and Dendrobium Orchids. It was more stunning in person. We also added the Pariesien print ribbon to the stem wrap of the bouquet. Beautiful!

The Bridesmaids carried hot pink bundles of Roses, Mini Calla Lilies and Carnations tied with black satin and the Parisien print on the stem wrap.

The Ballroom's tables were beautifully decorated with a fabulous Parisien print linen from Choice Linens and the table decorations were simple black vases with a tightly designed arrangement of hot pink Carnations.
Simple, but stunning!

Brad & Amber were such a fun couple to work with. Congrats!

Real Weddings: Sandy & Alex 6.19.09

I've been waiting for pictures from this funky wedding I did in June of 2009 - almost a year ago. Wow, how time flies! This wedding got a small feature in Seattle Bride Magazine last year as well. I happened to stumble upon it while looking at the newest issue. Quite a pleasant surprise.

I was so happy to see these shots come through on my email this morning that I had to share. Thank you Melody with Amore Studios for providing photos.

The ceremony took place at The Bell Harbor Conference Center on the rooftop. The weather was sketchy that day, but the Bride said rain or shine I'm getting married outside! I think it drizzled a little bit, but not enough to cry about.

I loved the trios of bright yellow pomanders, it really brightened up the grey building and day.

The Altar arrangements were a fresh combination of Blue, White & Yellow with Gladiolus, Curly Willow, Hydrangea, Roses and Alstromeria sitting in White Urns on top of White Columns. Classic!

The Bride carried a simple bouquet of Blue Hydrangeas and Stars off Bethlehem

The silly Bridesmaids carried stems of Blue Hydrangea. Simple!

The centerpieces at the Reception, which took place at Shilshole Bay Beach Club in Ballard were a natural design of Manzanita Branches planted in vases filled with natural pebbles and accented with hanging crystals.

After the ceremony, the cute yellow pomanders were transferred and hung from the Manzanita branches. A great way to re-use ceremony pieces in the reception decor and save money.

Such a cute wedding and a fun couple to work with. Congrats Sandy & Alex - it's almost your year anniversary.

Real Weddings: Erica & Nick 9.5.09

I absolutely adore this vibrant red bouquet froom Erica & Nicks wedding at The Canal.

We designed it with Dahlias, Mini Calla Lilies, Zinnias and Roses with an addition of a little seasonal strawflower looking thing that I can't recall the name of.

The Bridesmaids carried all white bouquets of Dahlias, Roses and Mini Calla Lilies, to contrast against their dresses.
Mini Calla Lily boutonnieres - so simple and chic!
Looks like they had fun!
Thank you Red Fish Blue Fish Photography for the photos!

Real Weddings: 3.20.10 Amanda & Andre

Amanda and Andre were married March 20th, 2010 at The Pickering Barn in Issaquah. It turned out to be a gorgeous sunny day for the wonderful couple. Andre is the nephew of a wedding coordinator I've had the oppportunity to work with a few times, she's fantastic: Claudine Ursino, La Belle Soiree Event Planning.

Amanda chose a color palette of Teal, White and Chocolate Brown. The bouquets were designed in all shades of white and cream with some small accents of green. We used Peonies, Hydrangea, Freesia and Roses tied with satin ribbon.
We created an Altar with Birch Branches hanging crystals and candlelight for additional ambiance.

Thank you to Jenn Repp Photography for amazing photographs!

WNUSA

Last month's Wedding Network USA meeting was at the beautiful Cedarbrook Lodge. You'd never know that this slice of heaven is set right off the airports path in Sea-Tac. It's fabulous with acres and acres of land they have it all. Rustic meeting and event spaces for Corporate and Social Events. Gorgeous outdoor Wedding Space for ceremonies. Delicious catering that has started to grow their own vegetables and herbs on site and plenty of modern styled rooms with big 'ol bath tubs. Heaven!

Check it out for your event or even just to stay a night before leaving for a trip. You don't hear the airport at all it's so secluded!

We had the privilege of doing floral decor for the meeting. We were really happy how the simple design accented the space and used our natural and "green" principles.

Half of the tables had a simple scape of square glass vases filled with crystal gel and accented with Purple Mokara Orchids and candles. We scattered crystals on the table for added sparkle.

The other tables were decorated with a tall glass vase filled with water and using our rental Manzanita branches we strung crystals with Purple Mokara Orchids and hanging candles from them. We also added some loose crystals to the base of the arrangements to continue to sparkle effect. It all simply transformed the room.

Thank you to Sean Hoyt Photography for the fantastic images!

Here's me having a little too much fun! I won the grand prize that evening for filling out my entire Wedding Bingo card. A night's stay at Cedarbrook with a restaurant gift certificate. Can't wait for my husband and I to use it. Good shot Sean!
