Lemon Love...

We had the opportunity of creating some fun summery arrangements for a Microsoft event last month at The Heathman Hotel. Thanks to Chic Celebrations for doing the decor and providing the vases.

Fun and poppy colors of tangerine orange, lime green, raspberry pink, sunshine yellow and creamy white. The arrangments consisted of Football Mums, Tulips, Roses, Mini Hydrangeas, Hypericum Berry, Orchids and an accent of lemon slices to line the vase.

The host's inspiration for the entire decor of the event were these nesting dolls. So cute!

Thank you Azzura for fabulous photos as always!

Wedding Ceremonies

I'm always hearing frustration from brides that they can't find any ceremony photos online to help them visualize how they'd like their ceremony to look. Here's a sampling of the altars i've done over the years. Hope you find something that catches your eye.

Real Weddings: Katrina & Marshall 8.15.09

Katrina & Marshall were married at the stunning Newcastle Golf Club. They had a simple and elegant color pallette of Pale Yellow, Soft Greens and Cream.
Stunning bouquet of all cream Mini Calla Lilies.

The bridesmaids wore navy blue dresses and we created an elegant combination of Vendella Roses, cream Dahlias, Freesia, Hypericum Berry and Lissianthus for them to carry.

Chic boutonnieres of Mini Calla Lilies

The Ceremony setting was truly stunning. Rented Elegance provided the covered pillars and drapery for the tent, they also provided the vases for my arrangements to go in and the pillar candles lining the aisle way.

We created a beautiful combination of White Hydrangea, White Calla Lilies, Yellow Stock flower, Dahlias and Roses. The low bowls carried floating Dahlias. The aisle way was softly accented with pale yellow Rose petals. Just gorgeous!

To be budget friendly we re-used the Ceremony pieces into the reception. The tall and short arrangments became table centerpieces.

The flower girl carried this sweet ball of daisy mums. So cute!

What a stunning cake this is!

The happy couple - Congrats!

Thank you to Azzura Photography for the fantastic photos. Thank you to Heather Sharpe with formerly Sharpe Occassions for hiring us for the event.

At the Zoo...

Last night we had the honor of providing some floral table decor for the monthly NACE Event (National Association of Caterering Executives). We have been a member of this networking group for 2 years now and it's a great group of individuals to get to know in the event industry.

The event was held at The Woodland Park Zoo, which has 17 different event spaces to host your event. Unfortunately, we didn't dine with the lions; but it was a wonderful atmosphere all the same. Lancer Catering prepared a wonderful meal of Local and Organic ingredients with an Indonesian twist. Lots of flavor and color to all the courses.

We provided some simple, but fun floral decor for the tables to compliment the exquisite custom linen provided by BBJ Linen named "Red Decadence."  Check out that linen!

We used two simple glass vases wrapped with Aspidestra Leaves and containing a modern and simple arrangement of bright red Carnations. Carnations are so cool on their own - they really are quite chic!

We did a cut and wrap technique on the Aspidestra leaves to create some visual interest on top of the arrangement. The Aspidestra really was an elegant flow to it when treated this way. The ends of the leaves are tucked into the arrangement connecting the two together, rather than one centerpiece on it's own.

We then wrapped each vase with a rustic covered wire and added a feather detail to the wrap. I love the contract of the feather's pattern and texture with the bold carnations. It's all about the details!

So simple, but so chic! Love it.

Our registration piece was made up of all greenery: Magnolia Leaves, Emerald Palm, Aspidestra, Curly Willow and feathers.

We added the detail on the front with a couple Magnolia Leaves wrapped with the rustic wire and then submerged some of the Aspidestra Leaves, partly to hid some mechanics, but also to repeat that wrapped look.

We also did another technique to the Emerald Palm, that is similar to french braiding. It adds some interest to the arrangement. The feel of this piece was very tiki.

Just a simple addition to the votive candles on the cocktail tables. Two Magnolia Leaves.

Being that the theme of the event focused a little on sustainability with a presentation by Caffe Vita Coffee and their Farm Direct coffee buying program, we tried to keep our floral sustainable as well. We re-used rental vases, all the flowers will be compostable and all other materials are recylable or re-usable. We strive to provide our clients with eco-friendly that minimize our impact on the earth one event at a time.

Real Weddings: Ivy & Jerry 6.28.09

Ivy and Jerry were married at The Woodmark Hotel in June 2009.  Ivy was sweet as pie and her and Jerry were such a terrific couple. Ivy was on a bit of a budget, but we made it work without sacrificing to many of her wants.

Our focus for the bouquets was Orchids and Calla Lilies with wrapped grasses.

Black and White Mini Calla Lilies, Cymbidium Orchids, White Roses and wrapped Lily grasses and Aspidestra Leaves made up this elegant bouquet.

Just love this shot from Tania with Azzura Photography!

The bridesmaids carried a similar collection of blooms: Black Mini Calla Lilies, White Roses, Burgundy and Green Cymbidium Orchids, Green Hypericum Berry and wrapped Lily Grasses.

The tent was simply decorated with two rented wrought iron stands and black candlestick aisle pieces from Chic Celebrations.

We did a collection of Roses, Kermit Mums, Orchids, Hypericum Berries, Salal and wrapped grasses in a pave style arrangment a top each stand - these were then transferred to low style centerpieces, by taking off the arrangement from the stand.

The Altar arrangements were a full combination of blooms to frame in the Bride and Groom during the ceremony.

A few simple Cymbidium Orchids to decorate the cake.

Congratulations Ivy & Jerry!

Thank you to Azzura Photography for the fantastic photos as always! We love your work!
