Real Weddings: Kari & Jeffrey 5.14.11

Almost a year ago, Kari & Jeffrey were married at Novelty Hill Januik Winery in Woodinville. One of my favorite venues to work at. They had a beautiful, modern wedding with hints of the garden in purples, whites and greens.
Thank you to Azzura Photography for your beautiful work as always!

Love the sleek and modern backdrops that Novelty Hill Januik Winery provides. Stunning!

Kari carried a bouquet blossoming with Roses, Lissianthus, Stock flower, Leucadendron and Hydrangea in shades of purple, green, white and an accent of silver.

Jeffrey wore a simple garden boutonniere of White Ranunculus with a sprig of greenery and Lavender Agapanthus blooms for a touch of purple. His boutonniere was wrapped in eggplant purple satin and a silver wire wrapping accenting the top.

The ceremony was simply decorated with mixed purple Pomander Balls hanging from every other chair, the aisle tied off with a purple ribbon and two linear, modern floral designs to create an Altar on wine barrels. The couple and their guests had to fight some weather that day, so I believe this simply modern setting was taken inside for intimate vows shared around the tasting room. C'est la vie! Makes for a fun story for years to come.

Mixed purple pomander balls hanging from purple room. The couple used them after the ceremony around the reception room for additional decor.

Linear and modern arrangements flanking the Bride and Groom for their vows. After the ceremony a great addition to the decor on the bar.

The Reception room filled with chartreuse green and purple

Linens by Alice provided all the beautiful linen for this event.

Garden arrangements of Freesia, Roses, Hydrangea, Hypericum Berry, Stock flower and tulips.

We created a unique backdrop for the escort cards using all Novelty Hill and Januik wine bottles. Whimsical blooms in green, purple and white of Agapanthus, Bells of Ireland, Tulips, Vibernum and Lilac. A simple design can make a big statement!

Beautifully designed menus for each setting

A 4 tier cake accented with simple blooms in purple, green and white.

Real Weddings: Myra & Michio

Myra and Michio were such a sweet couple! I was so thrilled to be a part of this wedding because of the rich fall color tones of Yellow, Orange and Red. Myra, the Bride had a unique vision and loved floral designs texture, interest and out of the ordinary wedding flower choices; which is my specialty. I love to use unique blooms to create depth, tone and interest in designs. I love to 'ode to tropical, but still very Northwest feel of this event.

Congratulations Myra & Michio on a beautiful sunny wedding day at the University of Washington

Bridesmaids carried posies of bright yellow Freesia and Oncydium Orchids with an accent of Equisedum in the bouquets

The Bride carried a truly dynamic bouquet of rich firey Orange and Epplant Mini Calla Lilies, Red Roses, Yellow Freesia, Protea, Lilly Grass, and Agonis foliage

Simple, yet uniquely designed boutonnieres of Mokara Orchids with Equisedum as the stem.

The ceremony was outside at the University of Washington Campus. A big open space of grass surrounded by lush trees and foliage. We decorated the aisle way with two medium floral displays attached to the chairs and scattered the lawn with bright and bold Rose petals

The reception took place at Zen Garden. We decorated the entry with a beautiful table scape of submerged Orchids, floating candles, and Rose petals

We lined each vase with a collar of Equisedum in different heights and wrapped it with gold wire, it created an interesting element to all the vases and especially to the overall design

Incorporating Manzanita Branches and crystals gave the piece a truly elegant, yet Northwest feel

Instead of a traditional guest book the couple decided on a Wishing Tree. We created this piece to serve as the guest book with tall Manzanita branches, crystals and orchids. The vase covered and with submerged Orchids inside like the entry pieces. Makes for a unique guest book and a wonderful decor piece at your Reception

The cake was covered with Lime Green Cymbidium Orchids blooming from the branches drawn on the cake. Simple, elegant and rich!

Thank you to Azzura Photography for your always gorgeous work and focus on the details of every event. We truly enjoy working with you and always appreciate your generosity with pictures!

New Year's Resolutions in March...

WOW... I can't believe it's almost been a year since I last blogged! What a slacker I am! Well... in my defense I did have a baby June 2011 and things have been busier since. Here's a pic of the cutie pie!
He arrived a month early and was only 3 pounds 9 ounces. He was happy and healthy, just tiny! We stayed in the hospital for a couple weeks to let him grow and when we brought him home it was a world of new adjustments. Hence the lack of blogging! :-)

I rarely make New Year's Resolutions, but I'm trying to make one this year and I'm a late bloomer and just now initiating it in March. It needed a couple months to marinate and for me to get my butt out of bed. I am going to do my darndest to be a better and more consistent blogger.

Goal = 3 times a week blog and post to facebook
1 down and 2 more to go!

International Women's Day with Microsoft

Elements in Bloom was honored to be invited to do the floral design for Microsoft's 2011 "International Women's Conference" held at the Woodmark Hotel! This is our second year collaborating with the Kristi, the event coordinator for this event and we look forward to it every year.

Here are a few snapshots that I took - but professional pictures will be featured as soon as I get them!

Kristi had a garden tea party style theme, so we created these luxurious floral centerpieces in hues of blush pink, pea green and accents of rustic brown.

We used our fantastic vintage silver urn rentals for the vases and created a sweet combination of Roses, Tulips, Amaranthus, Jasmine, Hydrangea, Lotus Pods and Mini Calla Lilies.

These adorable favors came from Godiva chocolate - YUM!

The perfect table linens, provided by Linens by Alice in an apple green complimented the arrangements and our votive candles nestled in split peas perfectly.

It's a beautiful day...

We are always thrilled to work at beautiful venues like The Woodmark Hotel, in Kirkland. This gorgeous outdoor wedding this past August 14th, 2010 of Sara & Brian was one of our favorites.

Sara and Brian were a pleasure to work with, as well as Sara's mom Susan. She's a tough cookie to please, but we managed to make it happen overwhelmingly!

What a gorgeous couple they are for a truly gorgeous waterfront summer day. It couldn't have been more perfect. Enjoy this pink an gun metal wedding... images by Cory Parris.

We designed a beautiful all white bouquet wtih David Austin Roses, Dendrobium Orchids and Spray Roses.

Bridesmaids bouquets in poppy pinks and fuschia to contrast against the gunmetal dresses.

An alternative to floral sprays at the Altar, we did these rich pink hued tent tie backs all around the tent. That way they were still enjoyed throughout the Ceremony and Reception without moving them in transition.

Trios of lush arrangements on each table in green, pinks and fuschia designed with Hydrangeas, Spray Roses, Roses and Orchids stand out on this gorgeous scroll champagne linen from BBJ Linens.

I'm always amazed at the incredible cake art from Starry Nights Catering!

A little candlelight goes a long way

Congrats to Sara & Brian, we wish you a happy and fulfilled life together!

Claudine with La Belle Soiree was the day-of-coordinator for this event. Some images were taken by Elements in Bloom.
