Weddings in Woodinville 2011

It was a true pleasure and honor to again, for the second year in a row be privileged to be a vendor showcasing at Weddings in Woodinville 2011! We had the opportunity to showcase at the beautiful and rustic Willows Lodge, located in the heart of Woodinville Wine Country, as well as work with a fantastic list of vendors.
Enjoy the sneak peak of images provided by Laura Marchbanks Photography.

The inspiration for this years event was based on a color palette of chive and lavendar, with all the linens provided by Linens By Alice. We based our floral designs on natural elements, re-used "shabby chic" items, and timeless design. We wanted to showcase many different styles of table-scape so we embarked on doing a completely different design for each table.

This design had an eclectic "Indian" inspired theme. We scrounged some vintage brass candlesticks in different heights and style and then sprayed them copper we pared them with mint julep vases also sprayed copper and a low square vase filled with moss. The candlesticks were set atop the moss-filled vase for a dimension and height and the mint julep cups were placed around the centerpiece to finish the scape, with the addition of candles all around. The color palette stayed mostly rustic pink and lavender with flowers of Mums, Roses, Lissianthus, Brazillia Berry, Leucadendron, Lotus Pods and Succulents.

All the paper products were provided by: Jennifer Witsil Creative

This is one of two long table set-ups. We designed a set of wood boxes spanning the entire length of the table in rustic and naturally inspired designs. With Mums, Roses, Succulents, Geranium, Agonis foliage, Leucadendron, Air Plants and Votive Holders.

Air Plants were provided by: Air Plant Supply Co.
Unique Votive holders were provided by: Candeo Flower

Our other long table-scape was designed with a collection of vintage cut crystal vases in 3 different sizes. We filled each sweet vase with garden blooms such as; Tulips, Narcissus, Queen Anne's Lace, Lissianthus, Freesia and accents of Succulents. This table is best described as... Sweet!

This was one of my favorite tables this year. It really represents the NW Bride with an emphasis on natural elements, rustic design and the unique aspects that guests will be raving about for a long time after the "I-do's."  It's a design of Birch tubes filled with simple arrangements of Roses, Green Goddess Calla Lillies, Brazillia Berry, Succulents and Scabiosa. With the addition of large Air Plants in a silvery grey. Unique and stunning!

This was our classic and timeless table design featuring a tall centerpiece with submerged Orchids and a lush and full arrangement of Hydrangea, Roses, Spray Roses, Mini Calla Lilies, Orchids and Brazillia Berry.

This simple, yet eye-catching table design was simply designed with a tall vase, Manzanita branches blooming with Orchids, crystals draping and Candeo Flower Votive holders hung and lit.

We adorned the cocktail tables with small bouquets to inspire the Bride. Each one a bit different in color, style and design.

We created a memorable and unique Altar piece using Birch Trees decorated with balls of neutral toned roses, large Air Plants and Candeo Flower's votive holders. What a picturesque scape for the setting of your wedding.

Rustic arrangements were hung from the chairs in lavendar, white, greens and browns.

Two additional flowal pieces were set on either side of the trees at the Altar with submerged Air Plants, Stock, Agonis Foliage and Tulips. Simple, but stunning!

Hope you enjoyed your sneak peek of Weddings in Woodinville 2011! We will have more detailed images coming your way shortly so stay tuned.

Many thanks to all the vendors that participated, contributed and made the event such a success!

A Fairy Tale Wedding

Hannah and Travis were married on July 31, 2010 at The Manor in Lynnwood, WA. What a sweet young couple in love.

When I met with Hannah she said she wanted their wedding to have that fairly tale effect, something out of Midsummer Night's Dream, an Enchanted Forest affair! We decided to introduce whimsical aspect to the arrangements by using hanging candles and flowers, crystals, willow and lots of droopy Amaranthus. Their colors   were primarily Burgundy, but we lightened the palette with soft vintage shades of pink and added a dramatic red for juxtaposition.

Enjoy!

We created a dramatic entry into the ceremony location. The arbor was decorated with Black Magic, Cool Water and Freedom Roses, White Dendrobium Orchids, and lots of Drooping Green Amaranthus.

We strung crystal garland and hanging votive cups with Orchids and Roses whimsically dangling from the arbor. The arbor was accented with a Burgundy chiffon draping for just the right touch.

Hannah's bouquet was created with Schwarz Black & White Mini Calla Lilies, Burgundy and White Miniature Cymbidium Orchids, Green Hypericum Berry and White Roses and Spray Roses.

The Bridesmaids carried a combination of Mini Green Hydrangeas, Cool Water Roses, Burgundy Roses, Black Mini Calla Lilies, Burgundy Dahlias and Hot Pink Spray Roses with an accent of Pink Mini Cymbidium Orchids. The perfect contrast to their deep burgundy dresses.

The head table featured arrangements of Willow planted in brown ceramic boxes with arrangements in deep burgundy and dusty pink with accents of lime green. Crystals floated among the branches for the fairy tale effect.

Each place setting featured a burgundy Dendrobium Orchid bloom for an extra special touch to the table.

October's Wedding Network USA Meeting

I am priveleged to be part of a great group of industry professionals in Wedding Network USA and they had their latest meeting at the beautiful and luxurious Alderbrook Resort. Although I didn't attend the meeting I had the honor of providing floral decor for the event.

Kirstie, with Simply Wed designed and managed the event with Alderbrook and it was a pleasure working with her on the natural and simple floral design to compliment the resort.

Alderbrook Resort and Spa is located in Union, WA directly on the Hood Canal. It's a beautiful and natural picturesque setting and every room features a gorgeous view whether it's from the hotel rooms or the private cottages. The resort features many cozy fire pits to snuggle up to while taking in the views, waterfalls around the property, leather couches and an inside fireplace to enjoy a game of chess or curl up with a nice book. They also have a full spa for all your relaxation needs, an indoor pool and sauna and steam room to accommodate your relaxation. Check out their website for more beautiful pictures and information about the resort!

Real Weddings: 5.30.10 Linda & Josh

Linda & Josh were married on 5.30.10, a very Seattle kind of day! They got just enough clear skies to do some outside pictures and their outdoor ceremony just added some umbrellas to the decor at the last minute.

Linda was a sweet Bride. This wedding came to me about 3 weeks prior to the big day. BreeAnn Gale with Pink Blossom Events, who'd also been hired not long before the wedding contacted me with a need for flowers for this lovely couple. I actually had some other engagements going on, but made it work. The flowers were simple, but stunning and I think the textures and colors matched the Bride's personality perfectly!

Enjoy...

Thank you to Jenny Jimenez for the beautiful photos!

A sweet little dinner party...

I have been a bad little blogger these days. My last post was 8.4.10 and that wasn't really a post with substance, more of a notification. It was a truly busy summer, one of the busiest - each week snowballed into the next. So, my apologies for not keeping you "posted," pun intended.

We will have lots of exciting stuff to show you as the photos start coming back from photographers from our grand events summer of 2010. But in the meantime, I thought I'd share this sweet little dinner party my husband and I threw for our family awhile back.

The inspiration was the vintage, garden fabric runner that I got at a thrift store. I built around that with props and flowers to set the table. Enjoy!
